Through my love of information architecture and making the world easier to understand with metadata, taxonomy and classification I caught the eye of the masterminds behind the Digital Asset Management (DAM) Guru program, and was asked to answer a few questions for them.
The DAM Guru program is something very unique, that I think really contributes to the development of the Digital Asset Management profession – it is essentially a “free community service” that is provided by DAM software company Picturepark. The site contains interviews with DAM professionals, links to a multitude of free learning resources, and current job opportunities from across the globe. That being said the program is surprisingly well-run and active for something that is essentially a side project of a corporation that exists, well to make money. Not many software corporations out there are actively involved in developing or promoting talent in their field… so, respect, Picturepark.
In the interview I talk a bit about my experience in the field of DAM, share some of my favourite resources, and answer the million dollar question “what would I be doing if I wasn’t doing what I’m doing now?”
